The Career & Technical Education (CTE) program offers 10, two-year skilled programs and enhancement courses. CTE provide students with connections, training and experience to succeed in future careers and become lifelong learners.

Exploring Computer Science
Interpersonal Studies and Human Development

Interpersonal Studies is a 1/2 credit course that provides real-world skills to improve and maintain healthy relationships with yourself, friends, future partners, family and coworkers.

Human Development is a 1/2 credit course that provides the skills and knowledge needed to care for the developmental needs and growth of a child from birth-five years.

Business, Financing & Marketing
- Year I covers the fundamentals of business and marketing. It begins with the basics of workplace safety, ethics and leadership. Students are introduced to business finance, economics and microeconomics. Major topics of study in this course are career readiness, foundations of marketing, market research and analysis, and entrepreneurship.
- Year II focuses on finance and management. Students will continue their study of economics with topics on international economics and macroeconomics. Students will develop educational, career and professional plans in business, marketing and/or finance by exploring employment opportunities in business.
- In both years, students will participate in a variety of business and industry visits outside the classroom, hear from guest speakers and participate in DECA- our competition student organization. DECA involves travel for district and state, as well as national competition if students place high enough in their respective events.
*Courses are year-long.
Construction Technology
This program prepares students for employment or continued education in carpentry. The curriculum framework for this program was developed in partnership with the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation (MCEF). MCEF is the accredited sponsor for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
Culinary Arts

Year I offers foundational skills necessary for the foodservice industry. Content such as food safety and sanitation; equipment safety and security; culinary foundations; and an introduction to the hospitality industry are included. This course emphasizes the real-world, hands-on practice of food preparation.

Year II emphasizes the hands-on practice of food preparation and internship experience. While students participate in on the job training, they will use skills related to management and business concepts, customer communication and customer service. This course should only be taken after students successfully pass Culinary Arts I.
Digital Media Technology
- This two year program offers comprehensive instruction in fundamental areas of creativity and technology. Students explore photography, graphic design, video production, audio editing and animation during the first year.
- The second year focuses on advanced techniques, refining skills and applying knowledge to real-world projects. Through this program, students develop a versatile skill set, preparing them for diverse careers in multimedia, advertising, entertainment or pursuing further education in digital media-related fields.
Health Science
- This two-year program includes classroom and hands-on experiences that provides students with an overview of the health-care field, including a foundation of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. This program will begin to prepare students for medical careers and includes a minimum of 100 hours of clinical-type experience. The experience can include tours of health-care facilities, guest speakers, participation in health fairs or community service, laboratory practice, demonstration in the classroom and observation or job shadowing experiences in medical facilities. Students will receive a health credit and a science credit if they complete the program.
Information Technology
- This two-year program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering computer hardware, software, networking, programming and cybersecurity in the first year. In the second year, students dive deeper into advanced networking and telecommunications concepts. The program enables students to gain practical skills in troubleshooting, network administration and telecommunications systems.
Law & Public Safety

Year I introduces students to professions in law enforcement and the military. Students will learn the roles and responsibilities of police, courts and the military. Students will understand the role of constitutional law at all levels; the U.S. legal system; criminal law; law enforcement terminology and the classification and elements of crime. Students will understand the ethical and legal responsibilities, patrol procedures, first responder roles, telecommunications, emergency equipment operations, and courtroom testimony. Students will demonstrate the basic process to collect and analyze evidence.

Year II provides students with an overview of the skills necessary for a career in fire and emergency management services. Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of a firefighter and emergency management personnel. Students will demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers, ground ladders, fire hoses, and water supply apparatus systems. This course will also introduce students to the concepts, knowledge and skills needed for emergency medical care in multiple areas.
Polymer Science
- This is a cutting-edge course that combines the principles of chemistry, 3D design and printing and hands-on creation of polymer products. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of polymers and their applications in various industries.
- Year two incorporates other areas of materials science, such as ceramics and metals, and further investigates the role of composite materials in emerging technologies. Students will also participate in industry visits and outreach opportunities.
Sports Medicine
- This is a two-year program offered to students that are interested in exploring careers in the medical field, specifically associated with sports medicine. In the first year, students are taught the various human body systems, medical terminology, medical law and ethics, as well as safety in the workplace.
- In the second year, students are exposed to all the various careers that fall under the sports medicine umbrella. In both years students will gain knowledge by hands-on experiences in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom through field experiences and clinical rotations. Students will receive a health and science credit for completing both years.
Teacher Academy
- This is a course for students who are interested in exploring careers in education. In Teacher Academy I, students learn about what it takes to become a teacher, child development, educational theory, the history of education in the U.S. and classroom management.
- In year II, students delve into the world of teaching diverse and exceptional learners, instructional strategies and assessments. In both years, students spend time in other schools and classrooms getting hands-on experience through observations and student teaching experiences.
