Graduation

• Will take place on the Petal High School football field at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, weather permitting.
• Practice is mandatory in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
• Practice in the shoes you plan to wear for graduation.
  • It's important to practice walking in these shoes on the turf. 
• You will receive your final report card in a envelope as well as your graduation tickets. 
  • Any books, fines or fees that you owe must be taken care of before graduation.

To be eligible for participation in the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, all attendees must adhere to the formal dress code below.

• Required attire for female students:
  • Clothes - dress, skirt, romper or ladies dress pants
  • Shoes - flats, dressy sandals, wedges or block-heeled shoes
    • Stiletto-type heels are strictly prohibited due to turf
       
• Required attire for male students:
  • Clothes - light or white-colored dress shirt and tie, paired with dress pants
  • Shoes - black or brown dress shoes
     
• The following attire is strictly prohibited:
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Jeans of any color
  • Tennis shoes
  • Sneakers
  • Flip flops
  • Casual sandals
     
• Other important dress code rules:
  • No customization of caps, stoles or gowns permitted.
  • Cap site flat with the point in the middle of the forehead
  • Tassel is to be worn on the right of your cap.
  • Cords are to be worn on the top of your stole(s). 
  • Instructions for patches:
    • Worn on the left side: Mu Alpha Theta
    • Worn on the right side: Skills USA, FLBA, Interact
       
• Please note that students not abiding by the dress code will be asked to change, causing them to be removed from the graduation line up until dress code is followed. Please contact Petal High School administrators with any questions. 

•     Goodwin Imaging will be set up at the storm shelter at 5 p.m. to take cap and gown still shots.

• Be at your assigned spot in the storm shelter for the graduation lineup by 6 p.m. Parking for graduates will be assigned at a later date. 
• The stadium will be open for parents at 6 p.m.
• All phones must be off or on silent during the ceremony.
• Parking is available in the lot in front of Petal High School, Touchdown Club lot and baseball field lot. Graduates should park in the Calvary Baptist Church lot (please stay off the grass). 
• There will be a firework show upon conclusion of the ceremony.
• Please respect all graduates and stay for the entire ceremony.
• There will be a live stream of the ceremony for those who cannot attend.
• Students will pick up your actual diploma immediately following graduation, ana All fees/fines must be paid in order to do so. 
  • Diploma must be signed for by student, parent or legal gaurdian.
• Each graduate will receive 15 guest tickets for the ceremony.
• No outside food or drinks are allowed into the ceremony.
  • Water will be provided for any attendee for no purchase.
• No animals are allowed into the ceremony, except for service animals.
